This calculator helps you generate the Foreign Assets schedule for ITR filing in India.

Set your tax year (e.g., 2023 for FY 2023-24)
Add your stock vest transactions
Include any sale information if applicable
Click "Calculate FA" to generate results
Download the CSV file for ITR upload

Adding Transactions

Manual Entry:

Stock Symbol: e.g., AAPL, GOOGL, MSFT
Vest Date: When shares were vested
Shares Vested: Number of shares
Vest Price: Auto-fetched or manual entry

Bulk Import Options:

Shareworks CSV: Upload your Shareworks export file
JSON Template: Load saved data or use templates
Combine Lots: Merge same-symbol, same-day transactions
Remove Duplicate Lots: Remove rows with exactly identical data

Tip: When loading data into existing table, choose "Append" to add or "Replace" to clear first.

Sale Information

Optional fields (if you sold shares):

Sell Date: When shares were sold
Shares Sold: Number of shares sold
Sell Price (INR): Total sale amount in INR

Note: If you enter a sell date, you must also enter shares sold and sell price.

Results & Download

After calculation:

Review the results table
Check for any warnings in the log
Download the CSV file
Upload to ITR portal without modifications

Important: The downloaded CSV is ready for direct upload to the ITR portal. No manual changes needed.

Common Issues

Price not found: Enter vest price manually or check symbol (MSF → MSFT)
Greyed results: Results are outdated - recalculate
No results: Check all required fields are filled
Validation errors: Review input data format
CSV not loading: Try clicking file input again if same file
Duplicate rows: Use "Combine Lots" to merge same-day transactions

Data Sources

Stock Prices: Yahoo Finance API (auto-fetched with debouncing)

Exchange Rates: SBI TT Buy rates (USD to INR)

Price Validation: Common symbol typos auto-corrected

Enable Dividend Income Calculation

When enabled, the system will attempt to auto-fetch dividend data from Yahoo Finance. Leave unchecked if you don't have dividend income or prefer to enter manually.
